Workshop Overview:

Learn the Training Within Industry methods of Job Instruction used by Toyota to train its people in the Toyota Production System.

This two-day course is accredited by TWI and will teach the Job Instruction skills (JI) as used by Toyota and over 10 million workers in Japan have taken TWI programmes. Delivered by international Lean expert Drew Locher, attendees will be introduced to TWI practices for quickly and effectively your staff to create fast improvement cycles.

Job Instruction training requires you identify the “one best way” and teach the process to this one way, thereby creating a standard method. Doing the same thing the same way across operators and shifts generates stability.

Expert Trainer: DREW LOCHER

TWI Certified Instructor JI and Lean Specialist, Drew first became involved in the development and delivery of innovative business improvement programmes while working for General Electric (GE) in the 1980s.

Since leaving GE in 1990 he helped the National Institute of Standards and Technologies’ Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) develop a Lean University.

Drew has been a faculty member of the Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI) since 2001. He is a frequent speaker at conferences in the U.S. and abroad on the subject of Lean Enterprise Principles and Enterprise Excellence. Drew is currently an instructor in ISD’s Improvement Kata & Coaching Kata course and is responsible for developing the new Lean Leadership programme at the University of Michigan.
